Last week I hosted a cozy wine and cheese night for some friends. I served a traditional cheese platter but also made a handful of appetizers. My favorite dish of the night was the Strawberry, Brie, Basil and Honey Crostini. It was really easy to make and super delicious! Thanks, Cookin' Canuck, for sharing such a tasty recipe (and thanks to The Glitter Guide for referring me to it)!
12 thin slices French baguette (I used whole wheat)
4 oz. Brie cheese, cut into 12 slices
6 medium strawberries, sliced
1 to 2 tbsp honey or agave nectar
4 fresh basil leave, thinly sliced
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
-Lay the baguette slices on a baking sheet.
-Top each piece of baguette with a slice of Brie cheese.
-Bake in oven until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted, 5 to 6 minutes.
-Top each with a drizzle of honey, a strawberry slice, and a few slices of basil.
